Rising Stars: Ellen Jones

23 04 2021

Ellen Jones, an award winning speaker, activist and writer, describes herself as an ‘unapologetic disabled lesbian’ in her Instagram bio.

Writing and speaking primarily on LGBTQI+ rights, mental health, autism and gender, Jones’s work has been featured in The Guardian, Vice, The Evening Standard and on The BBC. Her campaigning for better LGBTQI+ equality in schools saw her named Stonewall’s Young Campaigner of the Year in 2017, before she won the first ever MTV EMA Generation Change Award a year later. As well as her work campaigning, writing and speaking, Jones also hosts her own podcast, Never Read The Comments, runs her own mental health newsletter, Reasons To Keep Going, and is set to give a talk at the Cambridge Union later this summer.
